Majestic Vinters was founded in 1980 with its first store in North London. In 1991 Wizard Wines was merged with Majestic under the Majestic Wine banner. Majestic listed on the Alternative Investment Market in 1996. It’s 200th store was opened in 2013.
Naked Wines funds independent winemakers, who make exclusive wines at preferential prices. We pass
those prices on to our customers and customise our recommendations to them using 7 million reviews.

Naked Wines was founded in 2008 by Rowan Gormley, slap bang in the middle of the biggest recession since the Great Crash. We had one aim – to make the wine industry better. In 2012 we started up in the USA and Australia. In 2015 the business needed investment and became part of Majestic Wine PLC with Rowan taking over as Group CEO

Founded in 1994 Majestic Commercial was created with the recognition that on-trade customers can be supported through Majestic Stores, giving a greater market reach than many of the competition. In order to support staff to give their customers a service that is different from competition a new range was launched in 2008 which gave on-trade customers the range they wanted with a greater range of exciting wines, more exclusive to them.
